  1. Hi Bill, I recently signed up for your newsletter. Is the app included?

    • Bill Gunderson May 16, 2013 at 3:46 PM

      You can download the basic app for free. The subscription version of the app is not included in the newsletter, but I print my top 300 every weekend in the newsletter, along with the leading asset classes and sectors.

  2. Hi Bill,

    How does your app account for stock splits?

    Geoff

    • Bill Gunderson May 14, 2013 at 3:45 PM

      When a stock splits, the performance and valuation numbers are off for a day or two. This also throws off the overall grade. It takes a day or two for the data vendors to catch up with the split.

  3. Bill- I often hear you discuss growth of a particular stock. Do you guys look at what exactly is driving that growth? Curious because I’m often scratching my head wondering if a stock that you discuss which has shown strong growth- is that growth coming from increased pricing (which may not be repeatable) or is it coming from increased volume?

    Thanks for your thoughts- I enjoy listening to your show.

    • Bill Gunderson April 30, 2013 at 4:04 PM

      Growth can come from a lot of areas. Reduced Costs, Increased Revenues, Pricing power, acquistitions, new products, etc. We are talking about bottom line earnings growth. I treat it all the same.

  4. What time and radio station is your show on in Seattle, WA?

  5. HI Mr G, I have listened to your program on 1300 KKOL for several months and have purchased FMX, OHI, and ODFL for my IRA. I have talked you up to my brother who got me started investing in 2009 and has also purchased these. we use a 15,30,70, SMA system with MACD and Stochastic RSI to indicate trends, your stock rating system has helped our profitability with good stable growth stocks. Thank you. Most talking heads are just that, talking heads. I can’t believe what I hear when a fund manager for example will say “we haven’t made a decision on AAPL yet whether we should sell or not. no wonder 90% of them never beat the S&P. You have your head screwed on right, again Thank You. Terry T

    Mr. Gunderson,
    I have been listening to the first 15 minutes of your show for the past two weeks while on my way to school. I wish I would have listened sooner because you have inspired me to change my major from HRM to Finance. I’m not a youngster by any means, I’m a 30 year old Army Officer who needs to strategically put lost of money away before I’m done in service. I hope by listening to your show, reading your news letters, and studying finance at Hawaii Pacific University, I will put my self and my family in a better financial situation in the future. Thanks.

  7. For the last two weeks, and each early morning, I have tuned to your radio show. I am impressed with most of your picks and the quality in which the data is presented. Keep up the good work.

  8. I heard you for the first time a few mornings ago.You come on just before Rob Black 7 to 9AM on KDOW 1220 AM in Fremont, CA .The two of you are polar opposites on Mrket Timing. I tend to believe you more than him.Rob Black is a little arrogant.What do you think?

    • Bill Gunderson June 14, 2012 at 8:44 AM

      Rick, i get similiar questions asked of me all of the time. When I get portfolios transferred to me, I first get rid of the dead wood. In my opinion, that is currenty all of your positions. I dont care how much they are down-it is time to move on. I then determine where an investors risk tolerance is and then go out and buy the best 25 stocks that I can find within that risk profile. From there, I manage each position on daily basis. Investors breathe fresh air again. You can go it alone or you can higher a competent, fee-based money manager to do do it for you. I know a good one in the San Diego area :)

    What is the turnover in your portfolio? I opted for the 4 week freebie but am fed up with current advisor who calls and communicates when things are good and dead silence when market going south and you really need advice. Also how long have you been doing this and what is the track record? Thanks!

    • Bill Gunderson June 7, 2012 at 12:55 PM

      Stephen, the turnover is a lot less when the market is going well and more active during times like now. You can get a good idea buy viewing my model portfolios in my newsletter each week. Most advisors in my industry are basically useless. They have no idea of how to rotate with the market when necessary. I have been doing “this” for almost twenty years. I publish the results of my model portfolios every week in my newsletter.

  17. Bill;
    Several people have made the comment that they can’t sign up for your free four week trial from the app — heres the problem;
    in the app, there is a link for;
    weekly newsletter;
    when you click on there, at the next page is a link to “Get a FREE four week trial”;
    when you click on that link, you get a “sign up form”, and i tried entering everything there and clicking on the Oval “SEND” button, but it doesn’t work… might want to check with your webmaster and have them make the button work for iphones and ipads….

    cheers & All The Best!

  18. I also tried to sign up for free newletter trial on ipad app…won’t send. I have an apple store account.

  21. I just signed up for you 3 month news letter.
    I have some csx stock which has taking a beating in the last year my question is it a stock to hold on to with the panama canal expansion in progress which will divert cargo from the west coast to the east coast rail, rising gas cost, improving economy on the down side shipment of coal is down ?

    • I believe in owning between 20-25 stocks. I try to stay within my top 200 for new buys. CSX is currently ranked number 423. I dont own it and I would not be interested in buying it right now.
